Julia Hiebaum, born in Vienna, Austria, moved to Milan, Italy, as a teenager with her family. Working in various fields of Fashion for over twenty years in Milan, instilled a growing sense of perfectionism in esthetics, design and composition. Her extensive professional and personal travels have deepened her insightful perspective of the everchanging interplay between man and his environment.
Julia's moving images of nature and Landscapes were the starting point in her photographic journey. This was followed by a concentrated search to capture the fragility and instantaneous beauty of the floral realm. Driven by her curiosity in photographing new subjects and supported by the appreciation of her work, she has ventured into several other areas such as Architecture, Still Life and Portraiture. With her continuously expanding photographic library, she has become a regular contributor to several renowned stock photography agencies, and her work has been published regularly in various print media internationally. Since 2009, Julia started an exciting collaboration with Shirin Roubeni, a talented New York Children's Designer, who shares her vision of esthethics and candid beauty.
Julia moved to California in 2007 and lives with her husband and daughter in the San Diego area.
Her recent awards include a Second Place in the 2009 International "Prix de la Potographie, Paris (PX3)", a Finalist in the "29th Annual Spring Contest 2010, sponsored by Photographer's Forum and Canon, and several Finalists in the International monthly "Better Photo Contest". Julia is a member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA).
